On Wednesday, February 12, 2014 at 1721 hours, The Bridgeville Vol Fire Co, along with Station 78 Greenwood and Sussex County Paramedic 107 were alerted for a structure fire on Gum Alley. Upon arrival of the first engine, 72-15 found a 2 story residence with fire on first and second floors. Within minutes, 2 attack lines were placed in service and a crew to the roof for ventalation. One resident was at home at the start of the blaze but was able to remove herself from the home. She was later transported to NMH for evaluation. The Delaware State Fire Marshall is investigating. Appreciation goes out to Station 100, Federalsburg for providing a stand-by crew during the alarm.
