Bridgeville Volunteer Fire Company

On May 26, 2010 at 0322 HRS Station 72 Bridgeville and Station 78 Greedwood were dispatched to a working chicken house fire at 19538 Handy Road, 8 miles West of Bridgeville, adjacent to the Maryland line. 72 Command responded with 72-15. Upon arrival 72 Command reported a chicken house fully involved with roof collapse. Additional mutual aid resources were then requested. Crews initiated firefighting activities upon arrival and brought the incident under control at 0502 HRS. All fire apparatus was returning to station by 0545 HRS. UNITS RESPONDING - 72-8, 72-1, 72-5, 72-9, 72-4, 78-4, Tanker 78, 78-2, B-78, Station 100, 87-5, Tanker 87, Tanker 71, 47-3, 47-2. Station 77, 77-2, provided stand-by for station 72 and Station 75, 75-2, provided stand-by for Greenwood.
