Bridgeville & Neighboring Stations Battle Chicken House Fire - 5144 Dublin Hill Road

On May 10, 2010 at 14:00 HRS the BVFC was dispatched with Station 78 adn Medic 107 to a Chicken House Fire. While enroute to the scene the initial responding units reported a large column of smoke visible. Upon arrival on 72-1 , 72-15 established Dublin Hill Road Command. Initial arriving units encountered a empty and renovated chicken house 3/4 of the way involved with the fire spreading quickly through the structure Northwards. Initial attacks were exterior since the structure was starting a collapse. While the fire was knocked down quickly, the large amounts of tin laying on burning timber hampered overhaul efforts, additionally, the chicken house had ignited a large fire in the adjacent woods (next photo story). Fire crews were helped by nearby construction equipment to remove the tin and estinguish the remaining fire. Responding Units - 72-0, 72-1, 72-4, 72-5, 72-6, 72-9, 72-10, 72-00, 72-14, A-72, Medic 107, B-78, 78-2, 78-4, Tanker 78, Gator 78, Tanker 87, 87-5, 87-3, 77-2,77-0, Tanker 81, 74-0, Rescue 71, 71-0, 47-3, FR-11, FR-13, FM-10, FM-16.
